BB&B Doulas feel strongly about education before labor and birth. Our Childbirth Education Series consists of 6 classes available as one series, or individually to meet your needs. Classes are scheduled privately to best fit your schedule!
This is not your mother's Lamaze Class. We explore how your body works and how you can work with it to enhance your birth experience.
Class 1—Prepare for Your Best Birth—How to choose a care provider, prenatal testing, nutrition, childbirth education class, and more. This class is best taken early in pregnancy.
Class 2—How Birth Works—Learn about normal variations in birth and how to handle them.
Class 3—Childbirth Comfort and Positioning - You will also get hands-on practice with relaxation techniques and comfort measures for easing the discomforts of pregnancy and labor. Natural pain management techniques will also be discussed.
Class 4—Childbirth Choices and Medical Interventions—Find out more about options you have available to you at your birth place, whether it be hospital or home. Pain Management interventions, including epidural, are explained, along with ways to avoid them or decide if they are medically needed for you, and how to ask questions to make informed decisions.
Class 5—VBAC Prep (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean) - VBAC births take some special preparations and information. This class will prepare you well for communicating with your caregiver about your VBAC, and inform you about the special considerations to keep in mind during your pregnancy and labor.
Class 6 - Breastfeeding Basics - This class explains the benefits of breastfeeding for your baby and you. You will get the basic information and practical advice you need to know as you begin breastfeeding.
Tammy Bayer is a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator. If you need a refresher course or you don't have time in your busy schedule to take a full childbirth class, consider taking just a couple of classes that meet your needs.

We offer this unique class to help big brothers and sisters understand basic ideas surrounding birth and about their mother bringing home a new baby. Begin discussing how things will change before the baby comes home. Discuss what babies are like and their needs. Encourage the child to become involved in the new activities and decide on special times for the older child also. Extra material will be offered for a sibling who is attending a birth. This class can be specially scheduled for your family. $50/family for private classes.
