Playgroups, Support Groups,

& Fun Groups!

Open playgroups for birth-preschool age children (unless noted).  A huge pile of toys and a bunch of kids, what else do we need?  A great time for kids to practice social skills, and for parents to talk with other adults.  No need to register.

*Wednesdays, 10:00-11:00 am.

Motor Skills Playgroup

Motor Skills Playgroup is held from October through May on Fridays from 10:30 am-12 pm.  Ages 0-3.  This playgroup provides an opportunity for parent/child interaction while completing a wide variety of large and small motor skills activities, and the occasional take-home project.  $2.50 per child, no registration necessary!  You can prepay for several weeks at a time if you’d like, with our virtual punch card.

Summer Park Playdates

Each month May-September, we choose a park at which to gather.  This set time ensures that there will be other kids for yours to play with, other moms for you to converse with, and time to enjoy the great outdoors.  We plan to meet on Fridays from about 1030 am-noon.  Most families pack a picnic lunch to enjoy before heading home for nap time.  All ages are welcome.  June-August parks include splash pads.  Almost all parks have a body of water nearby for the big kids to explore.  Check back in case we change parks.  Also check our FB page Friday mornings in case of poor weather!
August—Cedar Valley Park—CR      September—Morgan Creek Park—NW CR/Palo

Breastfeeding Support Group/Breastfeeding USA

Our breastfeeding support group is dedicated to providing education, information, support, and encouragement to women who want to breastfeed. All breastfeeding mothers and mothers-to-be interested in breastfeeding are welcome to attend our monthly meetings along with their babies and toddlers.

The meetings run by BFUSA counselors are held on the 2nd Thursday evening of each month at 7 pm.  On the 4th Monday morning of each month at 11 am our meeting is led by our Breastfeeding Education Specialist.  Please plan to arrive a few minutes early to allow yourself time to get settled. For more information call us. FREE!    No registration necessary!

Sit & Stitch Craft Days

Moms can cross stitch, crochet, knit, embroider, scrapbook, create, and have some time away.  For crafter of any experience level.  Held on select weekends throughout the year (check the calendar page for exact dates).    (Nursing babies under 1 year, who are not mobile, are welcome.)   Registration required.

Mom & Me Craft Time

Moms and their ‘older’ kids can spend time crafting together in our classroom space.  Fashioned after our Sit & Stitch Craft Days, this short, condensed crafting time allows for creativity to blossom while making the time together special.  ‘Older’ kid  can be defined by the parent.  Is your child old enough/interested enough in crafting to be able to attend this group for the 4 hours block of time?  Craft time includes supper!    Registration required.

BB&B Book Group

Our goal is to provide a group where we can discuss books of interest to local families.  We schedule book discussions periodically.  If you have a book you would be interested in discussing. Let us know!  Also, please let us know if you would be interested in an evening book discussion!    No registration necessary!

Our Community Room is also available to rent so you can host your own

crafting/scrapbooking day or personal event.  For information, e-mail us at

Please register for all other classes and activities by calling our office 319-364-1144, emailing us at or on our Registration page.
